Condition Monitoring Engineer/Specialist


Purpose and Scope of the role:

To provide a specialized engineering service relating to vibration and other industrial state of the art condition monitoring programs for rotating equipment in Wind Generation facilities throughout the United States.

Functions and Responsibilities:

1. Will be the E.ON Climate & Renewables North America single point of contact and interface for various vibration monitoring programs on critical equipments associated with existing and new Wind Turbines and associated rotating equipment.

2. Will coordinate and collaborate closely with the vibration Monitoring and Analysis team located in the United Kingdom and serve as the point of contact in North America for the North American Wind Turbine Fleet.
Carry out vibration analysis and diagnostic review on rotating equipment and support the communication of condition and corrective action to the site maintenance personnel.

4. Coordinate data collection, trend reporting and program evaluation visiting various wind farms as necessary throughout the year.
Generate survey reports / condition report on routine basis and review corrective/preventive maintenance activities as required.
Develop the process and procedures for the condition monitoring programs to be the comprehensive guide for the wind farm operating teams.
Optimize the monitoring program based on the criticality of the equipment, risk and the manpower availability at the plants.
Provide necessary equipment alignment and balancing support during emergency and scheduled outages of various wind farms.
Optimize the currently used tools and suggest new tools for single point condition monitoring.
Capture the best practices in condition monitoring programs, develop them and cross transfer them between plants.
Carry out equipment performance analysis and check for equipment deterioration and their causes and recommend solutions.
Conduct machinery fault diagnosis using vibration analysis.


Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED with at least 4 years of power industry experience which include at least 2 years of condition-based maintenance strategies and processes


Preferred Qualifications:

BS in Engineering from an ABET accredited institution with at least 4 years of power industry experience which include at least 2 years of condition-based maintenance strategies and processes


Please Note:  The CM Engineer title will be if the selected candidate has an engineering degree. All others will be considered for the CM Specialist.
